Christmas 2009

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Tucker's was SO much fun. All the kids (and the adults) had a great time.

Fall Harvest--Late!

The end of Fall was late this year. Too much mud and rain meant that the harvest had to wait until the ground froze. Adeline thought it was SO neat to ride with Grandpa Tucker in the combine and eat up the corn!

Brother and Sister

Adeline is adjusting very well to being a big sister. She loves him a LOT and is very defensive and protective of him no matter where we go. She tells anyone who gets close to him "No, MY bubby!". She is very sweet.

Home again, home again.

They let us go home today after the swallow study. All the lab work and everything was fine. Of course, Liam only spit up ONCE in the hospital. Now we are home, he is spitting ALL.THE.TIME again. What on earth are we going to do?? They increased his medication threefold and said to keep nursing him as much as he will let me. His ins/outs look great, so they are not worried he's not getting enough, he is just not keeping enough in to gain.

Anyway, that's whats up with us. Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be pretty low-key.

And, we're in the hospital.

So the doctors decided that Liam was not gaining weight as fast as they wanted. Yesterday, he weighed 10 lbs, 10 oz. He is developmentally ahead of the curve, he is holding his head up great, he's rolling over from back to stomach and he's trying to sit up! So, we arn't worried there.
So far, they have increased his medications, and scheduled us for some tests, including a study watching him eat to make sure he's not aspirating. Otherwise all is good!
Adeline is staying with Aunt Sarah, and I am sure she is having a great time! Jeremy is at work today, and I am here with Liam. So, we will see what they say!

No-Spill Juice Box Holder Review

Adeline loves to drink "juice". Which is usually water. But, I thought for a treat, I would get her some Honest Kids juice drinks. Especially for when other kids are around and she wants JUICE!

The only problem with this is that she is NOT one to not squeeze a juice pouch or juice box. We tried the juice box holders with no top and she figured out those real quick.

Enter No Squeeze Juice Box Holder. She can't get the juice pouch or box out of it! Yea! Much less messy.
Here are a couple pics.

No Spill Juice Box Holder empty

-Pros:
Adeline can carry around a juice box/pouch and make much less mess.
I don't have to open juice and put it in a seperate sippy cup.
She can't get the box or pouch out to make a mess with it.
Fits almost every size.
Reasonably priced.
Dishwasher safe.

-Cons:
I can't figure out how to get the straw in without making a mess.
Had to order online, not available in stores.
She can still shake it or turn it upside down to get the juice out. Darn.

All in all, a great buy and would reccomend it to any parent that has a juice box squeezer!

Fall Fun at the Orchard

Jeremy and I took the kids to the orchard! It was so much fun. They had a great time. Adeline loved the apples and pumpkins, although she called them all apples. She was fascinated by the apples on the trees. It was all we could do to keep her from picking all of them!
They had all kinds of neat stuff for the kids to do, and it was pretty busy. We didn't even get in the store because it was so crowded.

To G or not to G, that is the question. . .

So, I have been pondering G-Diapers. I really really miss cloth diapers, but as it is, I am hard pressed to keep up with regular laundry for all of us, let alone cloth diaper laundry. G-diapers seem to be a great in the middle solution.

I have not tried them. I had some at one point for Adeline and when she was so tiny as a baby, I got rid of them before I tried them. Also, I was loving cloth diapers then as well, so that makes a difference.

I think I will get 2 starter kits, one for each kiddo and get one extra pant for each. That way, I have a total of 3 pants/kid and hopefully that will be enough to get me into the swing of things. Some is better than none, right?

Here is the link to their site if anyone is interested or curious:

Out for the day. . .

We had a double date today! Adeline and Liam took Tyler and Leah to Trader's Point Creamery in Zionsville, IN. Adeline and Tyler loved the cows and running around after the chickens. Liam slept and Leah was fussy, but that's what you get when you take a baby to the farm! I hope to go back when they are milking, I think Adeline will LOVE it and be totally amazed. Here are a couple pics!

Took Liam to the Dr Friday

He is still not gaining weight like they would like him to.
He is 10 lbs 7 1/2 ounces.
We went to Riley for an upper GI and labs. He was such a trooper and the lab lady did a great job!
The upper GI was no big deal either, they just give him a bottle and watch him drink on xray. The hardest part was that since it was last minute, Jeremy couldn't get off work in time to be there. One of my friends from the ER came down and entertained Adeline while I went in with Liam.
I am going to eliminate all milk/dairy and we are going to get an appointment to see Peds GI and go from there.
I am sure everythign is fine, but it is SO hard not to worry given what I see every day.

So, what have we been up to?

Crazyness, that's what!
I am going to try to turn this into a photo-blog, because I can hardly keep up with anything but pictures, and Flickr makes it easy to blog pictures as I upload them.

I am trying to sew some clothes for the kids for winter. I finished Liam's first outfit last night, have one more to do, as well as a hoodie for Adeline and (hopefully) some pants for both kids.

I have also been hosting some group buys for a Yahoo group. What was I thinking, lol!

Liam is now 3 mos old and weighs over 10 lbs! Adeline still is stalled at 22 lbs, and is learning SO much every day. Right now, she loves to wash her hands and play in the water.

Liam is holding his head up great and working on gaining weight. He is also starting to coo and smile!

At the Park with the Cousins

Grandma and Grandpa took Kenzie, Liam, Adeline and Jill and Katie to the park this weekend! It was a good time.

Rear-Facing at 18 Mos!

Why do I keep Adeline rear-facing? Because she is 4 times safer! And the American Academy of Pediatrics is reccommending to keep kids rear-facing until the age of 2 or until they outgrow the rear-facing weight limit on their convertible seat. At 22 lbs, Adeline still has a ways to go, even in the lower 35 lb weight limit seats. I hope to get 2 new seats that RF to 40 lbs so that both kids can be rear-facing longer!

In the Dryer??

Adeline LOVES to play in the dryer and with the dryer balls. Mommy does NOT think it's the best thing, but she seems to.
