From my Front Porch Looking In. . .

Here are some pics from my Mom and Dad's house. THe front porch is probably my favorite part of the house. I spent a LOT of time on the porch swing as a kid, watching stomrs,talking on the phone, just hanging out. Now I am rocking Adeline on the front porch too!!

Adeline Marie is 4 Months Old!!

Well, Adeline is growing so fast!! She holds her head up great, love to sit in the Bumbo seat, and is very talkative and verbal about what she wants. She squeals, laughs, coos and has BIG smiles!!

It is great to be here with my Mom and Dad and so much closer to Jeremy's mom and grandma, as well as my sister and the rest of my family.

We got Adeline a Bumbo Seat and she LOVES it! It is great for us as well, she can sit with us when we eat as well as sit and watch TV or watch me fold clothes.

Grandma Mary Alice and Grandpa Dale came and visited yesterday. We went out to eat and hung out around the house. Here are some more pictures from this weekend.

Adeline is 3 Months Old!!

Holy cow, where has the time gone?? Adeline is 3 months old today. She is starting to get into a predictable routine, and she is smiling more and more. She is holding her head up like a champ, and she is trying to sit up! She is also trying to decide if she likes her fist or the pacifier better. She is adapting well to my gong to work, staying with Dad and her 2 great-aunts that live close. Me, on the other hand, not liking gonig back to work so much. It is a LOT harder to heave her than I ever thought it would be. Not becuase I don't think she is fine with others, but becuase she is my baby and I don't want to miss anything!!

My project for this month is to make Adeline and Kenzie quilts. We will see if it gets done! Also, we are going to try to get moved home with my Mom and Dad by the second week in May. I will be starting a new job in a more adult ER, and Jeremy has a new job as well. We will be so glad to be closer to family. Adeline needs her grandparents and great grandparents.

We are working on selling the house. We had a showing last night and have another one on Sunday. We are also having an open house next sunday. Hopefully that will help us get the ball rolling. Jeremy and I both agree that we wish we could just move this house to land closer to home, that would be ideal. But, since that technology has not been discovered yet, we will make do with selling this house and looking for one that is hopefully better closer to home.

2 Month Checkup!

Well, Adeline had her 2 month checkup and her shots today. Ugh! She did very well with the shots, and the doctor said she looked great!

She weighs 8 lbs, 12oz and is 22 inches long! She is at the 10th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. The dr also said not to worry about her spitting up/throwing up unless she stops gaining weight.
I was shocked at the amonth of shots she had to have. Five actual pokes, and then the rotavirus by mouth. She did a great job, as did her Daddy helping to hold her.
And Mommy was very proud of myself for not crying!!!!

Well, here we go. . .

Two days of cleaning and I am beat!!! We are listing our house tomorrow! It is super clean so the photographer can come and take pictures for the listing. Yea! It is finally starting to sink in that we may really move. Now if we can keep it this clean for the showings, we will be set!

I have to go back to work in 10 days. Uhg. NOT looking forward to it. At. All. But the first day is a Sunday, so Jeremy will be able to be with Adeline. 12 hrs is SUCH a long time to be away from my baby. Waaaahhhhhhh!

Adeline goes to the peditrican tomorrow for her 2 month checkup and her first shots. Mom is NOT looking forward to that either. Hopefully she will do fine, I am going to dose her up on Tylenol before we go. . . I will let you know how it turns out.

Two Months Already!!

2 Months Old!!

I can't belive that Adeline is two months old aleready. She is smiling at us (instead of just because), starting to coo and she holds her head up really well. She is always alert and wanting to make sure she does not miss anything. She is sleeping anywhere from 3 to 6 hours at night, and taking at least one good nap during the day if we are home. If we are out and about, she is awake and checking everything out!! She slept in her crib for the first time this weekend, just for a nap, but it worked pretty well. She still sleeps in the co-sleeper beside us at night. We take her for her 2 month checkup on Friday, so I will let you know how much she weighs then.

We are in the process of getting everything in line to sell the house and move home to Illinois so that we can be closer to Adeline's grandparents and the rest of the family. Also, Jeremy will most likely be able to stay home and I will be the one working. Yea!

I will be going back to work at Riley the first week in April. I think it is going to be really hard, harder than I thought. But hopefully just for a little while and then we can get moved!

What a Week!!

Last week Adeline and I went to Illinois and met Kenzie, Adeline's new cousin! She was born on Feb 22 at 8:08PM, 8 lbs 4 oz!! Mom and baby are doing well.
We did not get out a lot, seems like everyone has been sick and I did not want to expose Adeline and Kenzie to that. I did have 2 interviews at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in the Emergency Department, so we will see what they say.

Adeline is starting to have quite the personalitly. She is very vocal about what she likes/does not like. And as Grandma Mary Alice says "Turn it on and turn it off" is pretty much it. . .she can go from crying and squirming to completly happy baby real quick. And the other way too! Grandpa Dale says the apple dosen't fall far from the tree. . .

One Month Old (and a few days. . .)

Well, I am a few days behind, but here are some pictures of Adeline at one month.
Also, here are some pictures of her and our friend's baby who is 10 days older than her! She is having more awake time during the day(yea!) and sleeping pretty good. We are going to Illinois this weekend to meet her new cousin Kenzie (Katie is at the hospital right now~~!) and hopefully she will tolerate the car ride ok. She has still been hating it pretty bad.

Bath Time. . .

So tonight I gave Adeline her 2nd bath. And she liked it better than the first. So much better, in fact, that she pooped in the water. And then, when we moved the bath to the sink, she pooed all over the floor, and on the towel and on the heater. . .wow. So, now that I have fed her and got her almost ready for bed, I have to clean the tub and floor.

Out and About. . .

Well today I took Adeline out for the first time by myself. She was good on the drive TO Target, but on the way back, she was NOT happy. She still hates her carseat. Hopefully that will get better.
We got her pictures from Target today and oooh they are cute!



I am very happy with them.
I think the trip wore her out, she is now sleeping in the swing. I am debating whether or not to take her out on a walk today, or if we will just hang out until Jeremy gets home.

Adeline Marie is 3 weeks old!!

Adeline is now 3 weeks old! I just can't believe it. Here are some pictures of her, she is getting more awake during the day and attempting to sleep more at night. Still need to work on the carseat thing. I think Sarah is going to come and help me run errands this week, so I don't have to go out on my own yet.

First All-Day Out!

Well today Mom and I took Adeline for a girls day out!
It was fun, but a lot of work!! By the time we got home, I was completly worn out. And we did not even get to the bank! But we did make it to everywhere else.
She HATES her carseat! We are going to have to work on that. . .she just cries and cries when we put her in there. Eventually she realizes we aren't going to take her out and she calms down, but it is a really looooong 3 min. I don't think I am going to try to take her anywhere by myself until she can be in the seat and not cry, I can't handle that.
Jeremy and I gave Adeline her first bath tonight too. She was not too excited, but she smells SOOO good now. Mom took a few pictures, so we will have to get thoes up soon.
Well now it's time for bed and we can just hope she is going to sleep for us tonight. We will see!

Things I Didn't Know about Being a Mom. . .

---I can get up every 2 hours at night, do something productive, go back to sleep and still function the next day.
--I could take a million pictures of a tiny baby and still want more.
--I could love Jeremy more than I already do.
--I could have major surgery and not care about me.
--I would not want to go back to work.
--I would only shower every 3 days and think that was OK.
and I am sure there is more but I can't think of them right now!

Adeline is One Week Old!!

I can't belive it's been a week since she was born.
It has gone really fast. I am sure that is what I will say when I have to go back to work too!
Jeremy is still home helping me and will be here next week as well. I am so glad!

Adeline Marie is here!!

Adeline Marie Vaughn was born Saturday January 12 at 12:00:02 AM (yes, 2 seconds past midnight!!) She weighed 7 lbs, 8 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long.
We took her to her 1st dr's appointment today and she now weighs 7 lbs 3 1/4 oz and is 19 inches long. She is eating like a chanp and sleeping pretty good, all considered. Mommy and Daddy are SO proud! Here are some pictures!

I am still working my 12 hr shifts like a crazy person. Hopefully that will encourage her to come out a little faster, but I am thinking it is not working.
Less than 2 weeks from today and hopefully she will be here!!
